An Overview of Social Conservativism
An Overview of Social Conservativism Social conservatism was ushered into American politics with the so-called Reagan Revolution in 1981, and renewed its strength in 1994, with the Republican takeover of US Congress. The movement slowly grew in prominence and political power until hitting a plateau and stagnating in the first decade of the twenty-first century under President George W. Bush. Bush ran as a â€Å"compassionate conservative†in 2000, which appealed to a large bloc of conservative voters, and began to act on his platform with the establishment of the White House Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives. The terror attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, changed the tone of the Bush administration, which took a turn toward hawkishness and Christian fundamentalism. The new foreign policy of â€Å"pre-emptive war†created a rift between traditional conservatives and conservatives aligned with the Bush administration. Due to his original campaign platform, conservatives became associated with the â€Å"new†Bush administration and an anti-conservative sentiment has nearly destroyed the movement. In most areas of the country, Republicans align themselves with the Christian right refer to themselves as â€Å"conservatives†since fundamental Christianity and social conservatism have many tenets in common. Ideology The phrase â€Å"political conservative†is most associated with the ideologies of social conservatism. Indeed, most of today’s conservatives see themselves as social conservatives, although there are other types. The following list contains common beliefs with which most social conservatives identify. They include: Advancing pro-life and anti-abortion stances on unwanted or unplanned pregnanciesAdvocating for pro-family legislation and a ban on gay marriageEliminating federal funding for embryonic stem-cell research and finding alternative methods of researchProtecting the Second Amendment right to bear armsMaintaining a strong national defenseProtecting US economic interests against foreign threats and eliminating the need for trade unionsOpposing  illegal immigrationLimiting welfare spending by creating economic opportunities for America’s needyLifting the ban on school prayerImplementing high tariffs on countries that do not uphold human rights It is important to mention that social conservatives can believe in every one of these tenets or just a few. The â€Å"typical†social conservative strongly supports them all. Criticisms Because the preceding issues are so black and white, there is a considerable amount of criticism from not only liberals but also other conservatives. Not all types of conservatives agree whole-heartedly with these ideologies, and sometimes denounce the vigilance with which hard-line social conservatives choose to advocate their positions. The radical right has also placed a large stake in the social conservative movement and has used it in many cases as a way to promote Christianity or to proselytize. In these cases, the entire movement is sometimes censured by mass media and liberal ideologues. Each of the tenets mentioned above has a corresponding group or groups which oppose it, making social conservatism a highly criticized political belief system. Consequently, it is the most popular and most scrutinized of the conservative â€Å"types.†Political Relevance Of the different types of conservatism, social conservatism is by far the most politically relevant. Social conservatives have dominated Republican politics and even other political parties such as the Constitution Party. Many of the key planks in the social conservative agenda are high on the Republican Party’s â€Å"to-do†list.In recent years, social conservatism has taken repeated hits thanks in large part to the presidency of George W. Bush, but its network is still strong. Basic ideological affirmations, such as those espoused by the pro-life, pro-gun and pro-family movements will make sure social conservatives have a strong political presence in Washington DC for many years to come.

Amazing ideas without solid execution never boost your results. What Is A Marketing Campaign? (For The Sake Of Understanding Everything In This Post) Here's your marketing campaign definition: A marketing campaign is a project consisting of multiple pieces of content or events, connected together by a unified theme, with clear start and end dates. Marketing campaign planning, then, is the process of organizing everything behind the scenes to ensure a smooth, efficient process. Planning helps you nail every deadline for every piece/event you publish/host within your campaign. A Few Marketing Campaign Examples Some marketing campaign examples may help illustrate this concept a little better. 1. Product Launches Has your business launched a new product or service? It's likely you didn't just publish one blog post and called it good. Product launches are great opportunities for a multi-faceted marketing campaign. The last thing you'll want to do is share the news once and assume everyone in your audience now understands you offer something new. For product launch campaigns, you may consider: A product announcement blog post A complementary content marketing style, educational, blog post A landing page all about the new product, feature, or service Social media messages directing traffic to both blog posts + your landing page Facebook ads directing traffic to the landing page AdWords and other paid search advertising to capitalize on purchase search intent Emails to your current customers Emails to your prospects list you've built via content marketing best practices Press releases for specific niche publications Press release for local news media Native advertising in niche publications Product demo webinars Another blog post with the demo webinar video embedded Retargeting ads for those who've seen the news anywhere on your blog posts, landing pages, and beyond Kathryn, our Head of Product Marketing, manages product launch marketing campaigns like this all the time. Here's a screenshot of what this actually looks like mapped out on a calendar: Not all of this content needs to ship at the same time. You can plan when each piece will publish, outline the tasks you need to complete for each, map out the dates when each task needs to be completed, and delegate accordingly. ^ This is what you'll learn throughout this blog post. 2. Content Launches Imagine publishing a brand new course, e-book, video series, podcast, microsite, or tool. Just like a product launch, these large-scale content projects deserve more than one-and-done communication. You'll likely want to schedule: A landing page that contains the content and is optimized to convert traffic (Example: Headline Analyzer) A blog post that shares the content (Example: How To Write Headlines That Drive Traffic, Shares, And Search Results) A social media campaign to promote the blog post or direct traffic directly back to the landing page (or both, because... why not?) Emails to your customers to give the content away for free Emails to your prospects Emails to your friends in the industry asking them to share your content Facebook ads, paid search ads, and retargeting ads to broaden your audience well beyond the folks who already know your business Internal links from your most popular blog posts with calls to action directing your visitors' attention to the new content Links from your new blog posts to direct traffic to the big content ^ You get the picture... You invest a lot of time + effort into large-scale content. Make the most of it by scheduling a campaign to share it long after the initial launch. For example, when recently released the Marketing Strategy Certification Course, this is what the campaign looked like: 3. Events Events often require promotion beforehand (to get attendees), during (to communicate where attendees need to go + what attendees need to know or do), and after (to reiterate the value of the event + convert prospects as necessary). Examples here include conferences, virtual summits, webinars, and Meetups. Your event campaign may include: Before A landing where prospects can sign up to attend Emails to customers to influence more attendees Emails to the email list you've built using content marketing methodology Press releases to niche publications that share upcoming events Press releases to local media to attract local prospects Social media messages to share the event landing page with your existing following Itinerary emails for those who sign up to help them 1) know they made the list, and 2) select the sessions they'd like to attend most During A mobile app with daily itineraries A print itinerary Swag bags + name cards and lanyards Wayfinding signage Presentation decks + speaking points Printed handouts to help attendees implement the advice you're providing Landing pages to give away free product + content you talk about during the event Booth materials and signage An event hashtag + a way to showcase the social messages during the event After Emails thanking attendees for coming + reminding them of the value they received from your event Emails providing additional information attendees may have requested during the event, like presentation decks and video recordings of the event (which may also require landing pages, SlideShare decks, or YouTube videos) Emails optimized to convert attendees into paying customers An old school, physically mailed letter with a certification + swag Again, you get the idea here. Here is an example of a webinar campaign Kathryn organized when we collaborated with Pat Flynn from Smart Passive Income: An event is definitely a marketing campaign with a clearly defined start and end date for each phase of the project, with all communication centered around a topic (the event itself). Use These Marketing Campaign Examples To Plan Your Own Content + Promotion Checklists You're going to learn a lot more about this throughout the campaign planning checklist. But essentially, with each of the examples above, I simply brainstormed all of the content pieces that would make sense for each campaign. You will do the same for your own marketing campaigns. It's not rocket science. But rather, identifying the content ideas that you can realistically execute to make your campaign more successful than publishing one-and-done content. If you'd like more content ideas to kick start your campaign brainstorming, read this comprehensive blog post: Recommended Reading: 113 Content Types To Organize With Your Marketing Calendar Your Marketing Campaign Planning Checklist Our CEO and Co-Founder, Garrett Moon, says... The simplest approach is often the best place to start. It's easy to let the amount of things you could do overwhelm you. And overwhelm makes it hard to start, especially because humans are naturally adverse to change. That's why the following checklist is kinda... minimalist. I recommend NOT overcomplicating the process here simply because it doesn't have to be complicated. Based on my experience managing marketing campaigns for years, this is what I highly recommend you do (consider this a marketing campaign planning checklist): [ ] Draft The Campaign Launch Brief Your launch brief is the version of truth for the high-level communication behind the campaign. It includes: The marketing campaign idea The resources + budget The goal + how you'll measure it The speaking points A link to your content + promotion checklist A link to your high-level marketing campaign sprints A link to your marketing calendar campaign timeline + ship dates ^^^ You can simply copy + paste that list into a Word Doc, Google Doc, or Evernote Note, then flesh out the details. There is also a free Word Doc template in the bonus content within this blog post- you can simply download that and get started immediately. Think about these seven points as an outline that will help you easily communicate the purpose of your campaign and how you will execute it. So let's take a look into each of these points. I've found it helpful to answer questions as a framework for clarifying your plan: [ ] Clarify The Marketing Campaign Idea Answer this: Who will this campaign benefit the most? As you think through your audience: Try to target only one prospective customer. If your idea is broad or you know it will benefit multiple audiences, consider planning multiple campaigns. This will prevent you from spreading your message too thin (or sharing information one audience type just wouldn't care about). Target a specific sub-set within your audience. For example, if you are targeting lawyers for your campaign, which kind of lawyers will you target (e.g. corporate lawyers, estate planning lawyers, personal injury lawyers, etc.)? Write a story about why your campaign will help this audience. Fill in the blanks of the following framework, putting yourself into your audience's shoes: As an {audience type}, I want to {do something} so that {I get a desired value}. At this point, you will also describe the project in a couple sentences or paragraph, essentially coming up with the campaign definition. Think of this as the elevator pitch for your campaign. For example, when we recently released the Marketing Strategy Certification Course, this is what the project description looked like: Staying organized is a never-ending struggle. As marketers, we live in a fly-by-the-seat-of-our-pants world, and if we aren’t organized, it can feel like one fire drill after another. Well, not anymore. This course is all about getting you insanely organized and giving you the tools for real 10x growth. We’ll teach you how to prioritize the RIGHT kind of content, how to optimize it for 237% more engagement, and how to take control of your marketing strategy (not the other way around). Ready to get started? Cool. Keep scrolling. As in the example, your campaign description connects the dots between what you will provide (e.g. the content within the campaign) and the value the audience gets (e.g. what's in it for them). You'll learn more about understanding what your audience values in the following Speaking Points check. [ ] Know Your Resources + Budget Answer this: What kind of resources might you need to complete the campaign? As you consider this question, you will: Brainstorm the talent + people the campaign will require to be successful. For example, if you decide to build a free online tool, you may need help from a developer who is typically not on your marketing team. Now is the time to think through this roadblock and work with the right folks internally (or look for an external partner) to help you make the campaign a reality. Make sure your marketing team has the tools it needs before you start executing. The last thing you need is to take on a campaign only to have it come to a halt because tools weren't part of your budget. Consider the time it may take your team to complete the project. How much can they take on given the campaigns they are currently working on? What might your launch date be given this knowledge? Have a clear budget. You may need to work with those partners, buy tools for your team, or account for overtime your staff will take on. ^^ At this point, you are thinking high-level. These are estimations (all aside from budget, which you can clearly know for actual money you will need to buy tools or services from external vendors). The rest is a very educated guess based on your experience. In the Content + Promotion check, you will literally map out every piece of content within a campaign, then determine who will do specific parts + how much time it will take to complete. That will help you understand and define exactly what to expect from your resource. Right now, knowing your resources and budget at a high-level can help you get sign-off from the big wigs so they know what to expect as you take on this campaign. [ ] Define Goal + How You'll Measure It Answer this: What results will this campaign produce? If you have data from similar campaigns, you may be able to get to a specific figure here. This extremely detailed blog post will help you understand what to expect from future content performance based on your historical data. If you don't have historical data on similar campaign of this kind, it's still helpful for your team to know why you are taking on this campaign (and not something else). You can write this simply in your launch brief: The goal of our campaign is to influence {specific metric}. Now, before you launch, you will need to know how you will track the results the campaign produces. A tool like Kissmetrics will help you track nearly anything. Or you may opt to use Google Analytics with its Goals and Custom Reports functionality. Let's look at an example of setting up Google Analytics Goal tracking + Custom Reports to view the information. Since a majority of you likely have larger marketing goals to influence email subscriber signups from your campaigns, let's use this as an example for your goal metric for your campaign. Open Google Analytics and click Admin. Select Goals. Click + New Goal. Name the goal, select Destination, and hit Continue. Select Begins With for your destination, then write in the slug of the page your users see after they convert into your email list. Oftentimes, that is a specific thank you page on your website, so that's the example you're learning here. Then hit Save. It takes up to two days for Google Analytics to know you want the tool to track that metric, so give it some time. But in the meantime, let's set up a Custom Report so you can view those results when they start rolling in. Select Customization and click Custom Reports. Hit + New Custom Report. Title your custom report (I like to use the same Name from my goal). In Metric Groups, search for your goal name and select that goal's Goal Completions option from the dropdown. In Dimension Drilldowns, search for and select Goal Previous Step - 1. Hit Save. Now once Google Analytics starts tracking your goal, you will use the Custom Report to view the pages your audience saw immediately before converting into your email list. This will help you understand which pieces of content within your campaign have been most successful (along with viewing how all of your other content is performing for this goal, too). ^^^ Essentially, now you know how you will measure your marketing campaign's success.

Analysis of Business Continuity Assignment Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1500 words
Analysis of Business Continuity - Assignment Example Similarly, the â€Å"what†question is with regards to which aspects of the firm or business entity/organization will be impacted upon and directed in the result of an emergency response. Further, the â€Å"how†question delves into the actual mechanics of emergency response and the means by which these will be carried out. Additionally, the â€Å"where†question refers to the actual physical location in which emergency response and business continuity operations will be affected. By engaging each of these respective considerations, firms are universally able to engage in emergency response preparation and planning as a function of effecting business continuity in the face of a disaster or emergency of some size. Although the preceding list is not an exhaustive discussion of the way in which a business or organization should affect the responsibility, it helps to give a brief overview of some of the key considerations that must be made prior to any business conti nuity operations being delineated. Similarly, the second phase of business continuity is necessarily crisis management. It is at this particular stage that many firms and organizations have evidenced a distinct weakness. Whereas it is relatively obvious that emergency response should be considered and engaged within the firm, the actual implementation of crisis management is oftentimes ignored up until the moment in which it is required. As a function of their understanding crisis management and delineating key compliments, the following section will be concentric upon analyzing the importance of timely, organized, structured, and planned crisis management. With respect to timing, the current era has witnessed a drastic change in the way the information is disseminated; oftentimes new stories can travel the globe engage with stakeholders within a matter of moments.

Goverment Imigration Act Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words
Goverment Imigration Act - Essay Example However, regardless of how the figure is understood, the fact remains that this large number of shareholders remains in a state of limbo. Oftentimes unable to return to their home country, they are constrained to living the rest of their days in the United States without any hope of becoming naturalized or legalized. This is of course a function of the antiquated and unethical means by which current immigration policy exists within the United States. Accordingly, the following analysis will serve as something of a policy recommendation with regards to a proposal for addressing the following issues regarding immigration: what should the new immigration policy look like, the need for the government to tighten border security, a discussion and analysis with regards to the arguments for and against allowing undocumented persons within the United States to earn citizenship, a brief discussion of the means by which allowing citizenship for illegal immigrants might expect the United States in the years ahead, whether or not the dream act should be made permanent by the U.S. Congress, and a brief take on Pres. Barack Obama’s allowance for some immigrants to apply for temporary visas. Firstly, the need for the United States to produce an updated and relevant immigration policy is without question. ... wever, without specifically addressing needs of the many millions of illegal immigrants that are already within the United States, such a piece of legislation would be ultimately worthless. What needs to be affected is legislation that allows for a greatly reduce level of illegal immigration within the United States while at the same time providing option for those individuals that are already within the United States illegally to further their lives and the lives of their children. Similarly, at the same time, it is necessary for the United States to significantly increase its border security; not only as a means of stemming illegal immigration, but also as a means of providing a greater level of national security. It is been proven time and again that many of the easiest ways to do harm to the United States, or any other nation for that matter, is merely to come across the border and undocumented fashion so that the national security apparatus has no idea that the individual(s) who wishes to harm is even there (Stolz 7). With regards to the main arguments for and against providing a path to citizenship for the illegal and undocumented persons currently residing in the United States, these arguments will be briefly discussed in the preceding paragraph. Firstly, those individuals that are in favor of providing a path citizenship claim the fact that this provides an ethical and reasonable approach by which these millions of individuals will be able to further integrate with American society, pay taxes, and contribute to the society that they had so long been upon the sidelines of. Likewise, those that are against a level of reform point to the fact that any such reform would necessarily encourage further illegal immigration system (Hinojosa-Ojeda 181). However this

Manners of Development of Conceptual Frameworks Research Paper
Manners of Development of Conceptual Frameworks - Research Paper Example Valuation concept, as adopted by both IASB and FASB under circumstances when historical values being replaced with fair market values, has been examined to find out the effects of such valuations. The concept of ‘economic income’ has gained importance under prevalent economic instability around the world. Accordingly, an effort has been made to review the capabilities of standards to measure the financial income, calculated using available standards, in terms of economic income. IFRS 1 has been amended to make ‘comprehensive income’ more presentable and useful to users of financial statements. These amendments have been critically examined in order to evaluate their achievements. IASB has adopted asset- liability theory, similar to the approach adopted by FASB in its framework, to develop the conceptual frame. This implies that the objectives of standards would only be to satisfy the needs of users of financial statements. Standards are not set to measure the management performance, though such measurement is incidental on the application of standards. This is rather a lopsided approach and not a comprehensive framework helping to set the standards. Fair value application is a welcome approach and in situations where fair values are not available or measureable, the proposal to use present value is a refreshing modern idea. Suddenly economic income concept has taken a central stage in world economies. The abilities in IASB and FASB standards to evaluate financial income in terms of economic income, particularly when presenting effects of non- owners equity on the comprehensive income, reveals the flexible approach adopted in framing the standards. Though bri nging amendments in the presentation of financial statements is an effort in the right direction and with a purpose, but the very first effort to amend IFRS 1 has proved to be infertile. Amendments have not brought any value additions to the presentation of financial statements.

Overview of Image-Based Shading Techniques
Overview of Image-Based Shading Techniques Rishabh chand sharma Brahmdutt bhora Abstract Image processing input, such as a photo or video frame is an image for which any form of signal processing functions by using images using mathematical is processing. Most image processing techniques, such as a two-dimensional or three-dimensional image signal is treated. Image processing methods used are two types of analog and digital image processing. Shading is also useful in image rendering. Rendering through computer programs, (collectively, can be called a scene file or model) is the process of creating an image of the 3D model from 2D images. In the processing of images, shading is very important method for smooth the surface and get the results. Shading 3D models with varying levels of darkness in the picture refers to the depiction of depth perception. In this paper we introduce the comparisons between different types of shadings. Here introduce which shading method is best rather than others. Keywords image processing, image rendering, shading. I. INTRODUCTION An image is an array, or matrix, of square pixels (picture elements) arranged in rows and columns. A grayscale image (8 bit) for each picture element ranges from 0 to 255 that is a fixed intensity. Each picture element of grayscale images (8 bit) usually calls a black and white image, but the image includes many shades of gray. Here shows square grayscale image which have different type of shade with differ values means each pixel have a particular value within range (0 to 255). Figure 1: Each pixel has a value from 0 (black) to 255 (white). The possible range of the pixel values depend on the colour depth of the image, here 8 bit = 256 tones or grayscales. Image processing: An image processing system is to get a magnified image (digital image) from an image or to extract some useful information from it. This is a method to take some action on it. The characteristics associated with the input image or the image can be output as video frames or photo, is a type of image in which the signal system. They have already set up to implement signal processing methods, image processing systems, while generally treated as two-dimensional signals, images. Image processing basically includes the following three steps- Image importing with the optical scanner or digital photography. Analysis and data compression and image enhancement which include manipulating the image and satellite images that is not like the human eye for spotting pattern. The production is based on the result image or image analysis in the report can be changed, which is in the final stage. Image processing methods used are two types of analog and digital image processing. Analog or printout of image processing and visualization techniques like photographs can be used for hard copies. Digital processing technology is using computer manipulation of digital images that helps. The method by which images are produced the real space, light, and the interactions between objects in the camera often significant shading across the image field of view leads to situations where exhibits. In some cases, may be bright in the center of the image and the same goes to the edge of the field of view as the decrease in brightness. In other cases, the image on the right side to the left may be darker and lighter. Cinematography non-uniform illumination, non-uniform sensitivity camera, or on the glass can also be caused by dirt and dust (lens) surfaces. Shading: Shading 3D models with varying levels of darkness in the picture refers to the depiction of depth perception. Shading is use in the MIP and LMIP [1]. Here we include two types of shading techniques. Flat shading Smooth shading Further we discuss in part II about image rendering and modeling, in part III discuss about shading techniques used in image rendering and conclude the paper in part IV. II. IMAGE BASED MODELING AND RENDERING Image-based modeling and rendering techniques, image synthesis recently a powerful alternative to traditional geometry-based technology has received as much attention [2]. Rendering is the process of generating an image from a model by means of a software program. The model is a description of three dimensional objects in a strictly defined data structure. It contains geometry, viewpoint, texture and lighting information [3]. We can distinguish two fundamental approaches to rendering: geometry-based and image-based rendering. In geometry-based rendering, a scene is described using geometrical primitives, which are discredited into points, lines and triangles for rendering [3]. In image-based rendering, a scene is rendered making use of multiple input images, without any 3D object or scene information [3]. Most rendering algorithms are a combination of these two paradigms, for example texture mapping (image-based) in polygon rendering (geometry-based) [3]. In the image rendering we use three types of rendering techniques. Scanline rendering: Scanline rendering instead of a line-by-line on the works that appear as 3D computer graphics, is an algorithm to determine the surface of a polygon-to-polygon or pixel by pixel. All of polygons before they appear for the first time at which the Y, the image on the front of each line or polygon with scanline sorted list by using the intersection of a scanline calculations, are solved by coordinating the provided that the sorted list is not as advanced active scaline photo below, visible long polygon is updated to discard. The main advantage of this method is that the scanning plane with the usual sorting corner reduces the number of comparisons between the edges. Ray tracing: Ray tracing through pixels in an image plane of light tracing the path of light through pixels and their encounters with virtual objects to create an image by simulating the effect of a technique. Ray casting: Ray casting computer graphics and computational geometry to solve a variety of problems in testing is the use of ray-surface intersection. 2D image based rendering: Such sprites, billboards, Impostors, and Layering image on a screen to display images as 2D techniques. Sprites, billboards, and Impostors some demarcation geometry as a structure instead of applying the image, image technique employs an off-screen. 3D image based rendering: 3D IBR 2-D methods when compared to the realism of rendered images, but only slightly increased with the complexity that involves the addition of several techniques. Examples of IBR layered 3D depth, images, view morphing, and includes view interpolation. 4D image based rendering: Last IBR approach to provide a four-dimensional function, a simplified view function Plenoptic implements. Image data for synthetic and real-world scenes recently developed two methods for rendering camera views have been. Figure 2: A variety of rendering techniques applied to a single 3D scene III. IMAGE BASED SHADING AND TECHNIQUES Color presents a problem for shape-from-shading methods because it affects the apparent â€Å"shading†and hence the apparent shape as well [4]. We take as our deà ¯Ã‚ ¬Ã‚ nition of shading that it is the sum of all the processes affecting the image intensity other than changes in surface color (hue or brightness). Shading arises from changes in surface orientation and illumination intensity [4]. Shading 3D models with varying levels of darkness in the picture refers to the depiction of depth perception. Shading less dense or lighter areas with a lighter shade or darker areas more densely media apply a darker shade on the paper with dark levels is used for illustration in the drawing, and is . The straight lines of varying proximity to the shadows are drawn in a grid pattern in a region where there are different techniques of cinematography, including the cross hatching. Dark, with the lines and odd field appears. Similarly, the different lines, appears lighter area. Figure 3: Example of shading In the image processing, we shaded the image with the help of two techniques- Flat shading Smooth shading Flat shading: Their respective colors and a lighting technology is used in each polygon of an object based on the angle between the intensity of the light source 3D computer graphics and general surface light source in the direction of flat polygon shading shadow. The main disadvantage of the flat shading, the low polygon model provides a versatile look. Sometimes may be it boxy look modeling objects such as profit through. Smooth shading: The main disadvantage of the flat shading, the low polygon model provides a versatile look. Sometimes it boxy look modeling objects such smooth shading, pixel by pixel, to the contrary, flat shading with color changes. The curved surfaces of the polygon vertices interpolation technique uses to calculate the values à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â‚¬ ¹Ãƒ ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â‚¬ ¹of the pixels holds. Smooth shading Hakrup divided into two major categories through the benefits might be. Gouroud shading: Gouraud shading surfaces represented by polygon meshes to produce continuous shading of computer graphics is used as an interpolation method. Gouraud shading is most often at the corners of each triangle of light and linear triangle covered by computing the resulting color for each pixel by interpolating surfaces triangle is used to obtain continuous light. Gouraud shading, flat shading and Phong shading is considered better than the much less processing is required, but generally results in a multilateral track. Phong shading than, Gouraud shading strength and weakness lies in its projection. The corner count expensive light color values à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â‚¬ ¹Ãƒ ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â‚¬ ¹from samples interpolating, corner than a mesh screen space covers more pixels, so as to reduce the processor Phong shading calculations performed for each pixel of light is intense. However, the highly localized light effects will not be rendered correctly, and in the middle of a polygon is a highlight, but does not spread to the top of the polygon, then it will not be clear in rendering a Gouraud; A highlight is on top of a polygon Conversely, if, it will be rendered correctly on the summit, but all through the neighboring polygon interpolation method will be spread across unnatural. Figure 4: Comparisions of Flat shading and Gouroud shading Phong shading: Phong shading 3D computer graphics shading the surface as an interpolation technique shows. It also called Fong interpolation or normal vector interpolation shading. In particular, the rasterized polygon normals across the surface of the interpolated normals and interpolates and calculates a reflection model based on pixel color. Interpolation and Fong Fong Fong shading also can refer to specific combinations of reflection model. Gouraud shading Phong shading correction and the shading of a smooth surface provides a better approximation. Phong shading a smooth surface normal vector is different. Phong reflection model, such as the small specular highlights that when applied to a reflection model Fong interpolation method works better than Gouraud shading. Figure 5:Visual illustration of the Phong equation: here the light is white, the ambient and diffuse colors are both blue, and the specular color is white, reflecting a small part of the light hitting the surface, but only in very narrow highlights. The intensity of the diffuse component varies with the direction of the surface, and the ambient component is uniform (independent of direction). Specular highlights are found in the middle of a large polygon Gouraud shading with the most serious problem occurs. The specular highlights peak based on the color of the polygon vertices and Gouraud shading interpolates are absent, specular highlighting will disappear from the interior of the polygon. This problem is fixed by Phong shading. Figure 6: Comparisions between flat shading and phong Shading Figure 7: Comparisions between flat, gouroud and phong shading IV. CONCLUSION Image processing is the wide area use in everywhere like in medical, video games, visual effects etc. Rendering is the method for view digital images and process them. Shading is use in image rendering. In this paper we represent the shading techniques and show the comparisons between them. Now conclusion of this paper is, Phong shading is better than other shading techniques like as flat shading and gouroud shading. In the further technologies we discuss the upcoming shading techniques. V. Gambling in Baseball :: Essays Papers
Gambling in Baseball What has changed the way America’s pastime is looked at forever and prompt worldwide discussion? Joe Jackson and his seven teammates changed the face of baseball forever during the intimate scandal of 1919. No other time in baseball history did Americans question the state of the game. Pete Rose had also brought a debate like no other before in baseball. Since his banishment in 1989 the country has been split on the issue. Gambling by these men and others has caused great problems in baseball. The game of baseball has been destroyed by gambling. Gambling will forever be a part of American’s pastime. As soon as the New York Knickerbockers organized in 1845 and started competing against other teams, spectators were betting on the outcome (Fleitz 190). In the mid 1800’s, speculations of gambling had reached the news. Three men of the New York Mutuals were banned from baseball for taking $100 each to throw a game to the Brooklyn Eckfords; nevertheless, the men were reinstated within a few years (Rielly 110). The next few decades only had been occasionally marred by gambling scandals. The Black Sox scandal of 1919 rocked the sports world and brought up even more scandals. Baseball’s gambling problems were not always bookies looking for that prized fight; it sometimes involved the role models of the game. Several owners had been linked to the 1919 scandal. Charles Stoneham of the Giants and Arnold Rothstein of the Dodgers were believed to play an important part of the scam (Lieb 189). Base ball slowly rid itself of gambling until the last big scandal hit in the name of Rose. Gambling has been a part of baseball ever since the start and will continue to tarnish the game whenever it is brought up. Baseball has been through lots of adversity throughout the years. Strikes, wars and corruption have given the game a black eye but nothing has hurt the integrity of the game more than gambling. Having baseball played honestly is the most important part of baseball and doubting the integrity can cause serious harm to the game.

Gravitational Force
Newton's Law of Universal Gravitation Apples had a significant contribution to the discovery of gravitation. The English physicist Isaac Newton (1642-1727) introduced the term â€Å"gravity†after he saw an apple falling onto the ground in his garden. â€Å"Gravity†is the force of attraction exerted by the earth on an object. The moon orbits around the earth because of gravity too. Newton later proposed that gravity was just a particular case of gravitation. Every mass in the universe attracts every other mass. This is the main idea of Newton's Law of Universal Gravitation. A portrait of Issac Newton. Courtesy of AIP Emilio Segre VisualArchives, W. F. Meggers Collection. The law was published in Newton's famous work, the Principia (â€Å"Mathematical Principles of Natural Knowledge†) in 1687. It states that every particle in the universe exerts a force on every other particle along the line joining their centers. The magnitude of the force is directly proportion al to the product of the masses of the two particles, and inversely proportional to the square of the distances between them. In mathematical terms: By team C007571, ThinkQuest2000. where and are the masses of the two particles, r is the distance between the two masses, F is the gravitational force between hem, and G is the universal gravitational constant, . The above equation only calculates the gravitational force of the simplest case between two particles. What if there are more than two? In that case, we calculate the resultant gravitational force on a particle by finding the vector sum of all the gravitational forces acting on it: By adding the unit vector to the equation, F now processes a direction! Interactively test the effects of gravitation on planets! Newton derived the relation in such a way that F is proportional to m because the force on a falling body (remember the apple? ) is directly roportional to its mass by Newton's 2nd law of motion: F = ma, so F is proportion al to m . When the earth exerts a force on the falling body, by Newton's 3rd law of Motion, the falling body exerts an equal and opposite force on the earth. Therefore, the gravitational force F is proportional to both the masses of the falling body and the earth, i. e. and . The inverse square relationship , was justified by observing the motion of the moon. View of a full moon. Newton's Law of UniversalGravitation has successfully explained the observation on planetary movements made by the German astronomer Kepler (1571-1630). It works perfectly well in the world of ordinary experience and has dominated for about 250 years. It, however, shows its shortcomings when explaining the unusual orbit of Mercury around the Sun. It breaks down when the gravitational forces get very strong or involving bodies moving at speeds near that of light. Ein stein's General Theory of Relativity of 1915, which has overcome this limitations of Newton's Law, was able to demonstrate a better theory of gravitation. Home Gravitational potential energy

Rome Italy essays
Rome Italy essays I had learned I was being sent to Italy in March of 2000 for a machine tool exhibition. I found out the happy news just before leaving work. Excitedly I jumped into my car and started my journey home. As I drove home down I-95 through all of the usual evening traffic I just kept thinking about ho I was going to tell my husband we were going to Italy. That night I continuously paced the floor looking out of my bedroom window to see if my husband was home from work yet. As he drove up in our driveway I ran outside to tell him the good news. I said, Nick guess where we are going in March? Before he could even say where I yelled out Italy! Italy, he said with a puzzled look on his face. I then explained the situation with work and said to him since if I have the opportunity to go I thought it would be a great idea for you to come along with me. I suggested scheduled some time before the show for the two of us to travel around Rome. Later that night it was settled we would sched ule a couple of days to tour Rome before the exhibition. It seemed like forever before we would finally be on our way, but then before I knew it we were on the airplane and the flight attendant is announcing fasten your seatbelts and prepare for landing into Leonardo da Vinci airport. After arriving at the airport we had to transfer to a train that would take us to the city center. It was about a 30-minute train ride. Along the ride I was getting my first look at Rome, mostly the colorful countryside with the rows of sunflowers that were so splendid with bright yellow centers, and green leaves that were so full of life. Just pass the beautiful field of sunflowers was a small farmhouse made of stone. You could see the smoke coming out of the chimney and the farmers working their land. Upon arriving at the main train station, Stazione Termini in Italian, the excitement was building I c ...

Peachtree Assignment Essays
Peachtree Assignment Essays Peachtree Assignment Essay Peachtree Assignment Essay There are many reasons to use accounting software like PeachTree. Just like PeachTree there are programs like Cookbooks and Quicken that will allow for a company to track assets and banking information. The reason these programs are highly suggested and used through the world is because they provide efficiency through data entry onto a computer that can then be used o electronically send out the information directly to banks, vendors and even payroll which would take longer to do if it was done by hand. This is because by hand the data would have to be calculated and also then sent by mail which could take up to five days for the vendor or customer would receive and then the time it would take for the company to receive back. Accuracy is another reason why accounting software is beneficial. Accuracy comes into play as all the calculations have been programmed into the software. This means it just a matter of entering the data and the program does the rest. Accounting software can also save time should there be data loss. The reason is that these programs come with databases that can be backed up automatically by a set schedule. This means reloading the data takes between 5-10 minutes to do versus being down for weeks trying to rebuild. Reports are also built into the software. This means it is easier to grab all the information requested in a matter of a couple clicks instead of going through filing beanies full of paper that may not be legible enough to read. This means there is a greater chance for errors to happen. Accounting software is very important for organizations and companies to have. It keeps all data in a centralized location that is legible and accurate with a sense of safety with database backups. PeachTree, Cookbooks and Quicken are programs that also provide free trials to users to be sure that It can be customized to fit the needs of the company.

Crude oil prices - Essay Example After adopting qualitative research method, there should be quantitative approach. The ideal researcher uses the combination of methods. At first, the qualitative approach should be followed. There are many methods to get the required information, the important things that should be kept in mind while gathering information are, the information should be practical, cost-effective, accurate, credible to the decision makers and the nature of the audience confirm to the methods. This is the primary phase of research. After getting the required data qualitatively some conclusions are drawn from the data; the results are tested on a larger scale by taking statistical analysis. This is the quantitative research also termed the secondary phase of research. There are many ways to collect a data qualitatively; they are Questionnaires, checklists and surveys: the aim of this method is to get the information quickly; the advantage is the identity of the respondent can be protected; lots of data can be collected. However, in this method clear feed back cannot be obtained. Interviews: the aim is to understand the individual's experiences and impressions, the advantages are in-depth information can be obtained; a relationship with the client can be established. This process can be time consuming, costly The

Complex Organizations - Term Paper Example For conducting such operations, he is required to possess certain vital skills so that the task can be performed in an effective manner. The most essential skills that are needed to be developed by aviation mechanics are communication skill, decision making skills, and the skill related to ethical values. The study comprises of the details of the role of aviation mechanics in Virgin Atlantic. In the paper, a brief introduction has been highlighted about aviation mechanic. It seeks to explain about the detail description of communication skill, decision making process and ethical values of aviation mechanic in his work. 2.0 Aircraft Mechanics Aircraft mechanics are also recognized as Aviation Maintenance Technicians and they are in charge of maintaining the aircraft in peak state. The performance of aircraft mechanics is evaluated on a regular basis and the inspection is done in a proper schedule and continuous maintenance as required by Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The othe r works that they are entitled to includes repairs, replacement of aircraft parts, making utilization of various precision tools, troubleshooting for possible problems and eventually equipment testing after its repair so that work can be conducted properly within the safety limit that has been set. The job of aviation maintenance technician has an imperative role in safety and economic feasibility of airline operation (EVERETT Community College, â€Å"Aviation Program Outcomes†). The aircraft mechanics of Virgin Atlantic is responsible to handle the multiple tasks. They ensure maintenance of aircraft so as to meet the standard of Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) along with the standard of the airline. They are entitled to complete the task related to aircraft maintenance within a definite time period and in a cost effective manner (Virgin Atlantic, â€Å"Aircraft Mechanic J.F.K International Airport†). The general responsibility of aircraft maintenance technician include s various features. They consider that safety is their major priority and seek excellence in their task. The judgmental capacity of the aircraft maintenance technicians is high and they apply good principles in their decisions. They are responsible towards the work and adhere to specific laws as well as regulations (AMTMCC, â€Å"Introduction†). A sound aircraft inspection as well as inspection system is of much importance for providing the public with constant safety along with reliability of air transport system. This system is considered as one of the most critical systems as it is related to human as well as machine components. Under the support of ‘National Plan for Aviation Human Factors’, FAA, by analyzing the aircraft maintenance technician, has recognized the significance of the role of human in the safety of aircraft. Humans are considered as a part of the systems though mistakes cannot be separated from the two aspects of human such as performance spee d and human well-being at work (Drury, â€Å"The Need for Human Factors in Maintenance†). The performance of the mechanics can be determined by both reliability as well as speed. There are two approaches of aviation maintenance such as Incident based approach and Task-Analysis based approach. When an incident takes place, the details of the incident will record
